Roma to sign Arsenal goalkeeper as Man United win Sergio Romero race

first_imgItalian football expert Tancredi Palmeri joined Extra Time on Wednesday morning to talk transfers. He revealed Manchester United are poised to beat Roma to the signing of former Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a free transfer. And he claimed that Roma, having accepted that Romero is off to Old Trafford, have now turned their attention to Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczesny and are close to concluding a deal.“Roma were working to get Romero for several weeks but apparently there are only a few details left for the Argentina goalkeeper to join Manchester United. That could be announced today,” said Palmeri.“When Roma realised Romero was gone yesterday morning, they contacted Arsenal for Szczesny and it should be done. Arsenal were pretty keen to get rid of Szczesny so it is something that should happen and pretty soon.”last_img read more
