They were forced to hand over some of their video tapes.“We spent 45 minutes trying, unsuccessfully, to negotiate with them, Sztanke told Reporters Without Borders.”Then things got out of hand and they stole the tapes and told us not to come back to the region.”A few days earlier, a Japanese television crew were set upon by several hundred owners and workers Guiyu. The Japanese journalists had both their tapes and video equipment seized.Police did not intervene on either occasion.Guiyu is a community of four villages on the banks of the Lianjiang river, some 200 kilometres north-east of Hong Kong. More than 100,000 people, who are paid the equivalent of around 1.50 euros a day, use their hands to strip down and sort electronic equipment, in defiance of the most elementary public health regulations.“The working conditions on the sites are horrible. In Guiyu, in south-east China, I have seen vats of acid spilling into the rivers. They were so corrosive they could dissolve a coin in one hour,” said Kevin Bridgen, a scientist working for Greenpeace International.“Many of the chemicals used in the electronic industry are dangerous and can be harmful to health even at very low concentrations,” he said.center_img to go further Help by sharing this information China: Political commentator sentenced to eight months in prison News ChinaAsia – Pacific News News China’s Cyber Censorship Figures March 12, 2021 Find out morelast_img read more

Your Perfect Pizza Companion

first_img Subscribe Home of the Week: Unique Pasadena Home Located on Madeline Drive, Pasadena Put away your pizza wheel. Don’t even think about using that giant chef’s knife. There’s another kitchen tool that’s faster and better for cutting a pizza: pizza shears! It might sound surprising, but yes! And if you haven’t tried them yet, it’s about the time.Scissors to cut pizza? Does this sound a bit untraditional? Maybe, but yes – kitchen shears are the simplest way to cut pizza. They are more than just scissors; they’re one of the most underrated, valuable tools in your kitchen. There are so many tasks they can handle, and now you can add cutting pizza to the list of their many uses. These pizza shears also offer a handy spatula to transport the slice from directly to your dish (or mouth)! There are other methods for cutting pizza, but none are quite as easy or clean. Even when it’s minimal, the sawing motion from using a knife has a way of pushing the melty cheese and toppings around, usually clumping them together. As for pizza slicers, it’s really difficult to get cleanly cut all the way through the dough. Kitchen shears, on the other hand, cut easily and cleanly through the crust and across the pie, leaving the toppings and cheese just where you placed them. If you would like to give pizza shears a try, get them at Tanager Housewares, which is located at 2156 Huntington Drive in San Marino.
